T. I. P. S. and G.R.A.N.S. Are excited to bring a multi-sectoral and spatial framework that will be ready for actual implementation via our Agricultural Engine of Growth project. T.I.P.S. works with G.R.A.N.S, providing Haiti with innovation, infrastructure and resources so that the food and agriculture sector:Is Climate-Smart: more productive and resilient in the face of climate change while reducing emissions, both for crops and livestock, Improves livelihoods and creates more and better jobs, including for women and youth.

  • Boosts agribusiness by building inclusive and efficient value chains.

  • Improves food security and produces enough safe, nutritious food for everyone, everywhere, every day.

With over 7 years experience providing assistance to underprivileged individuals The Total Integrated Programs and Services (TIPS) is excited to present The Agricultural Engine of Growth program. Our approach to optimizing Haiti’s agricultural potential will be an asset-based methodology in order to simultaneously explore aspects of both poverty and growth. We've taken recent population survey data made available by the Enquête sur les Conditions de Vie en Haiti 2018) combined with other data to analyze the following aspects of rural society and the Haitian economy:

  • ASSETS (productive, social, location-specific) at the disposal of rural populations.

  • THE CONTEXT (policies, institutions, risks) in which these assets are used.

  • LIVELIHOODS the strategies adopted to survive and thrive.

  • THE CONTEXT (policies, institutions, risks) in which these assets are used.

  • OUTCOMES of these strategies with respect to household well-being.

 G.R.A.N.S.

(Groupe De Reflection and D’Áction Pour Une Nouvelle Société)

G.R.A.N.S. is a cooperative, socio-economic, and cultural organization that deals with agricultural and cooperative production, through the supervision of producers and local organizations in the strengthening of their capacity on agricultural, technical, socio-economic and organizational levels. Overall, its activities are aimed at improving the socio-economic living conditions of the target beneficiaries.

Alleviating these conditions is first and foremost in our minds. To that end, GRANS has assembled a dynamic, and highly skilled team of professionals committed to the completion of this project. Total integrated Programs and Services (T.I.P.S) is a charitable organization focusing on assistance to the needy. The company offers educational and social services with the aim of improving the lives of the poor especially in Third World countries. Haiti’s founders bring a rich history in fighting poverty, project and service planning all aimed at the self-sufficiency among the recipients.

After assessing the agricultural land in Haiti, T.I.P.S. realized that various limitations were not satisfying the company’s standards of the Agricultural systems (TIPS Foundation, 2018). The research looked at different ecological regions including the irrigation regions, highlands, semi-arid regions, and lowlands. The main crops that do well in these districts are identified when value addition is done on them. Therefore, Total Integrated Programs and Services (T.I.P.S.) aim through the project Agricultural Engine of Growth is to make the rural areas develop which would have a development impact on the country’s economy.

This research would work to show how it would make Agricultural Engine ofGrowth productive and the strategies inlay to achieve the goals. T.I.P.S. would work with Groupe De Reflection and D’Áction Pour Une Nouvelle Société (G.R.A.N.S) to achieve their goals in Haiti. The group consists of Haitian professionals and others working to eradicate hunger from Haiti. G.R.A.N.S. is a charitable society and assists Haitians to fight hunger and poverty (TIPS Foundation, 2018). After meeting severally, the two organizations now collaborate on the Agricultural Engine of Growth to improve the livelihood of Haitian citizens.

Agricultural

Engine of Growth

Total Integrated Programs and Services (T.I.P.S.) is seeking support for the Agricultural Engine of Growth Project with the objective of alleviating poverty in developing countries especially Haiti. This proposal mainly focuses on the Haitian Republic and the agricultural capabilities of the country. Haiti is one of the countries in the world having the best agricultural possibilities but has little results since its colonizers exited the country in the year 1804. Over the years, Haiti became isolated from the international community with minimal recognition among its former world partners and admirers. The country was marred by extreme poverty levels and lacked a good economy stand that could not offer the best infrastructure to its citizens to develop most of the agricultural segment. The country’s significant activities are farming and took a slow development state due to the poor state the country was in after the exit of the French colonists in 1804. The country is a leading provider of agricultural products in the world like cocoa, bananas mangoes and is a leading supplier of vetiver oil. The farming sector in the country is still not well developed, and the country lacks proper manufacturing and processing capabilities for its agricultural products. Two fifth of the Haitian population relies on agriculture as its source of income who do small-scale farming where they are not able to offer conventional crop production. It leads to their products being destroyed by the natural calamities and widespread deforestation state in the country.

Total integrated Programs and Services (T.I.P.S) took center stage in the state of the agricultural sector in the country and its economic state. The company is playing a role in assisting the country to develop its farming capabilities and solve the challenges facing the sector. In partnership with G.R.A.N.S., the company can avail education on proficient farming services, communication processes, agricultural manufacturing and effective product marketing for their products. T.I.P.S would also be able to offer the best-advanced technologies and medical procedures to ensure increased productivity. The company develops “Agriculture as an Engine of Growth” project that would stimulate the developments to achieve the best in the market.
